Lauren Cosio Kotkowski- Owner/Vocal Pedagogue

Lauren Cosio is a San Antonio native and graduate of Clark High School. She earned her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from The Boston Conservatory at Berklee and later received her Master of Music in Musical Theatre from New York University. While at NYU, she studied under acclaimed professor Patty Thom and Metropolitan Opera veteran Harolyn Blackwell.

Immediately following graduation, Lauren began her professional career performing the role of Maria in West Side Story. Over the next six years, she appeared in leading roles at premier regional theaters across the country, including Barrington Stage Company, North Shore Music Theatre, and Westchester Broadway Theatre. She performed in West Side Story five times and held principal roles in The Buddy Holly Story, Man of La Mancha, On Your Feet, and Evita. During her time in New York, she continued her vocal training with Broadway voice teacher Mike Ruckles.

In 2020, Lauren returned to her hometown to fulfill a lifelong dream of founding her own theatre company. Alongside her husband, she established San Antonio Broadway Theatre (SABT) with a mission to bridge the gap between San Antonio’s thriving local arts scene and the broader Broadway community. Each SABT production features Broadway professionals working alongside local performers, fostering growth and excellence in regional theatre.

In 2023, Lauren completed the esteemed Vocal Pedagogy Professional Workshop at The Boston Conservatory, further strengthening her commitment to vocal education and artist development.

Lauren is a former judge and active coach with The Joci Awards, where many of her students have had the opportunity to perform. She is also the founder of the Lauren Cosio Voice Studio, where she continues to mentor and train the next generation of vocal artists.

Sarah Miga- Vocal Pedagogue

Sarah Miga hails from San Antonio, TX and started singing at a young age garnering experience in various ensembles including Children’s Chorus of San Antonio, The San Antonio Symphony, and The San Antonio Master Singers, and the San Antonio Opera.

She graduated from the Boston Conservatory of Music, earning a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance in 2014. She went on to earn a Master of Music in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy in 2019 from University of Texas San Antonio.

Sarah is student driven and results oriented, and she firmly believes in tailoring each lesson to the individual vocal needs of her students. By combining the latest in voice research with the lived experiences of her students, she helps them further their understanding of song and vocal performance.
